UK’S NETWORK RAIL LAUNCHES ESCALATOR SAFETY CAMPAIGN

A new public safety campaign from the U.K.’s Network Rail uses video of people tripping and falling on escalators to drive home the importance of proper use of its units.  According to Network Rail, more than 1 billion people travel through 17 stations each year, and there were 1,600 escalator slip-and-fall accidents in 2012-13. To prevent accidents, Network Rail urges passengers to slow down, take an elevator if they are carrying numerous packages, pay attention to signs and wear sensible footwear.
