One of the elevator industry’s biggest conventions (United 2012) seems to have really taken off this year. According to Mike Ryan of The Peelle Co., there are 216 exhibitors and approximately 3,500 attendees. Elevator World’s own, Angie Baldwin (managing editor) and Lee Freeland (associate editor) have been attending committee meetings and educational sessions all week and have reported that all have been well attended and interesting.
Baldwin also reported that Keynote speaker Don Yaeger motivated the crowd at the event’s Opening Breakfast where he discussed the importance of surrounding yourself with people that can make you feel better. Having been in the industry for just over three years, I can vouch for our “people.” The elevator industry is full of considerate individuals and it truly feels like we all work together for the greater good of our industry and the riding public. Stay tuned because EW will be reporting on the event in a future issue.
