LEGO ELEVATOR

For many years, along with our many educational products, Elevator World retailed a Lego Elevator Kit. This kit was specially made for EW but was a scaled down version of the one seen in this video. Regardless, it was fun, a great gift idea and a nice addition to the home or office. We even ran contests and asked our readers to send us videos of their Lego elevator. There were some really unique ones sent to us but I must admit it was not to this scale. So, we are appealing to you once again! If any of you have made your own elevator made out of Lego’s, send us your pictures or videos and we will post them on this blog.

  1. Do you know where I can get one of these kits? My 8 year old son has been obsessed with elevators for years- this would be amazing for him.

  2. ADH-

Elevator World used to sell these kits for years with exclusive rights from LEGO. They were very popular. However, about two years ago they took them out of production. We have one Model LEGO Elevator left for show in our office. So, unfortunately they are not available. You may try eBay as someone may be trying to sell one their old kits. Would your son be interested in receiving our magazine? We would be happy to send him a digital subscription at no charge. If so, please send me an email address.

  3. MY SON IS ALSO OBSESSED WITH ELEVATORS. HE HAS AN AUTISM DIAGNOSIS AND I THINK RELATES TO HIS OBSESSION. HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY OBSERVANT OF THE OPENING AND CLOSING OF THE DOORS SINCE HE WAS VERY YOUNG. IF YOU COULD SEND ME THE SUBSCRIPTION I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

  4. Hello! My son (who will be 8 this Friday) also has Autism and is obsessed with elevators! His love extends all over our house with paper ‘buttons’ and panels over the doorways and closets. My friend went so far as to get him his own 20 floor panel out of an actual elevator but we’ve not had much success in finding someone to ‘wire’ it for him to light up.

If your Lego kits are ever sold again, PLEASE let me know! Thank you!

  5. My son who also diagnosed with autism has been obsessed with elevators for years. He knows every brand of elevators and there differences. Not bad for 11 years old. He is always on his Ipad watching elevator videos. I have been looking for a elevator model for a years. If anyone knows where I could get one please let me know.

  6. My son sounds just like the other posts. He has autism and love elevators. We,too, have paper buttons and signs up all over our house. If anyone finds a kit, I would love to get him one.

  7. My son is almost 7, and IN LOVE with elevators. Just like the previous comments, he puts signs up around the house, uses doors to pretend they are elevators, builds elevators with blocks, etc. His grandfather received an elevator panel and wired it to work with lights and sounds, and a phone. I am looking for something like this lego set for him for Christmas. I am glad to see other children are just as fascinated with elevators as my son is.

  8. Great job! I wish more kids your age had the creativity and ingenuity as you do. As a huge Lego fan, especially on the engineering side of things I really enjoyed watching your video.

    Keep up the great work.

  9. I would like to get the LEGO elevator for my son also. He has come on night calls with me, and also wants to be a mechanic when he grows up. If anyone know how I can get one of these kits or which LEGO sets i could buy to use the parts out of to make one please email at rob914@hotmail.com
    Thanks
    Rob

  10. I have a couple of these Lego sets that were sold by Elevator World. I was in the elevator trade and probably purchased these back in 1993 or 1994. The sets are brand new and have never been opened. Checking Ebay it looks like the model description is “LEGO Mindstorms DACTA Set # 9702-1: Control System Building Set”. The set contains 220 pieces and is much smaller and different than the RoboticElevator video shown above.

Please contact at stevelonsdale@sbcglobal.net if you are interested in purchasing one of these sets.
