National Elevator Escalator Safety Awareness Week

National Elevator Escalator Safety Awareness Week (Safety Week) is celebrated annually the second full week of November.  The weeks basic purpose is the promotion of public safety awareness for the industry’s equipment. Everyone is invited to make this special week a huge success in cities throughout the U.S. and Canada. Safety Week provides a focal point for the industry, on a local and national level, to join together as individuals, companies and organizations and spread the word about public safety in the elevator industry.

For more information on how to do your part this week, become a volunteer, donate or just get more information on the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation visit here.

Photo of the Week

This photo shows the first members of the newly formed Elevator Riders Riding Club (ERRC).  The ERRC is a group consisting of vertical transportation industry members that combine their love for the elevator industry and their love for riding.  The club puts on and encourages others to facilitate fundraising events to support the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation (EESF).  Don’t ride? It’s not a requirement.  If you would like to help promote safety in our industry and have some fun then you should join.

The photo was taken at the National Association of Elevator Contractors Convention were the Club kicked of the festivities with a 50/50 Poker Run.  A total of $1750 was collected to benefit the EESF.
