BROOKS JOINS WAGNER CONSULTING

The Wagner Consulting Group, Inc. has announced that Jonathan R. Brooks has joined the company as vice president. Brooks is the former bureau chief for the North Carolina State Department of Labor Elevator and Amusement Ride Bureau. Clyde Wagner, president of The Wagner Consulting Group, expects that the addition of Brooks will add to the capabilities of the consulting group. The Wagner Consulting Group is an assemblage of consultants who provide assessment, inspection, training and project-management liaison services to the elevator and amusement-device industries.

CECA CONVENTION PROGRAM SET

The event, to take place on June 1-5 in Montreal, Canada, will include an exhibition, golf tournament, receptions, educational sessions, meetings, a boat cruise and more. 45-STORY SEATTLE TOWER PROPOSED

Seattle developer Steve Smith and two Korean-American partners announced plans for a 45-story tower in Federal Way, Washington, dubbed Sky Hotel & Residences. This would be one of the tallest buildings between Seattle and downtown Portland, Oregon. Construction on the tower is expected to start in spring 2011, with completion sometime in 2014. The city’s current tallest building is only nine stories.

BOY’S FOOT GETS CAUGHT IN MIDWAY AIRPORT ESCALATOR

According to wbbm780.com, a 7-year-old boy’s foot was caught in an escalator at Midway Airport in Chicago in February. A nearby doctor saw the accident take place and was able to hit the emergency stop and rush over to aid the boy. The boy suffered serious injuries and may have to undergo amputation of certain parts of his foot. The equipment was inspected after the incident.
