The 37th Annual “Pop Joe” Golf Outing was held on June 10 at Middle Bay Country Club in Oceanside, New York. This year’s honoree was John Beckmann from Van Deusen and Associates. The afternoon golf session was sold out, and an additional 68 golfers played in the morning-session. There were 205 golfers and 38 additional guests at the dinner. After golf, the morning session golfers enjoyed food by the pool and casino games. Once everyone finished golf, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour before the Awards Dinner. There was a 50/50 raffle, in which US$5,800 was split between three winners and the Elevator Escalator Safety Foundation (EESF). The event was able to raise US$32,689 for EESF. According to Railway People, approval has been granted for a new entrance to Waverley Station in Edinburgh, the U.K., which is the latest phase of Network Rail's redevelopment of the station. The plans include escalators connecting Princes Street and the north entrance to Waverley Station. In addition, lift access that will allow access from Princes Street to the station by way of the Princes Mall will be installed. Work on the escalators, as well as a staircase, is expected to be completed within one year.

ThyssenKrupp Elevator (Asia/Pacific) recently announced that the company has provided 204 units to the Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi International Airport) in Delhi, India. The work was done in the new Terminal 3, which can now handle 34 million passengers annually and is considered one of the largest passenger terminals in the world. The vertical-transportation installed by the company consists of 69 elevators, 37 escalators and 98 moving walks. The longest walkway is 118 meters.
