Underwriters Laboratories (UL) will be holding a complimentary webinar on July 29 at 2-3 p.m. EDT. Attendees can learn how manufacturers can more efficiently deploy new elevator technologies to the market by having them certified by an accredited elevator and escalator certification organization (AECO). Submitting a proposal to an AECO can enable a manufacturer to get new technology to market faster; have elevation products, systems and components easily certified; eliminate the cost of seeking variances from every AHJ; and make sure there is overall product compliance for public safety. Puget Sound Energy recently completed construction on a new fish hatchery and an advanced upstream trap-and-haul facility on the North Cascades’ Baker River in Bellevue, Washington. The hatchery includes a 60-foot-tall, water-filled elevator with a movable floor for lifting trapped fish to elevated holding ponds and a sampling station outfitted with electronic data-management equipment for collecting biological information about captured fish.
