Elevatoritis is the “display of anti-social moronic behavior when in the vicinity of a lift,” according to The Times of India . The article also claims that the first symptom of elevatoritis is the expectation that the harder you press an elevator button the quicker the elevator will arrive. Other symptoms include aggressive and random pushing of elevator buttons and irritability. Despite the fact that an elevator has never actually arrived quicker due to manic button pressing, people with elevatoritis continue to engage in this behavior hoping that one day the elevator will in fact arrive faster. Do you suffer from elevatoritis? I have witnessed many “victims” of elevatoritis. I’m sure we all have.
