Police Blotter – Salamanca, N.Y.

A New York man was arrested for allegedly breaking an elevator button at a casino on January 5th.

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office says 21-year-old Justin Feldman broke an elevator button at Seneca Allegany Casino. Feldman was arrested on a warrant for fourth-degree criminal mischief.

Feldman was issued an appearance ticket to return to the City of Salamanca Court, this week.

Destruction of property is a serious matter but it is rare to actually see that someone was arrested for breaking an elevator button in the news headlines.  After having conversations with industry members over the years, I have heard some very interesting stories about the things that people do to elevators.  So, feel free to share your story about the weird, not so good and funny things that you have seen while in the business.

And, just in case you are not familiar with this character and are wondering why we are posting it:

Poppin’ Fresh, more widely known as the Pillsbury Doughboy, is an advertising icon and mascot of The Pillsbury Company, appearing in many of their commercials. Many commercials from 1965 until 2004 (returned in 2009) conclude with a human finger poking the Doughboy’s stomach. The Doughboy responds by rubbing his stomach and giggling (Hoo-Hoo!, or earlier on, a slight giggle).  Source
