In this article, the dynamic zoning method for elevator group control using dynamic programming in up-peak traffic mode is studied. Taking passenger traveling and waiting time as objective functions, each elevator in the elevator group control system is dispatched optimal in up-peak traffic mode, which results in energy savings, quicker speed and improvement in the elevator-utilization rate. Comparisons of simulations on some group-control algorithms prove the favorable effect of the dynamiczoning algorithm based on dynamic programming.
